im planning the build of my 200g cube tank (48x48x20). I have a question about bracing the top of the tank. the tank is 48" wide and 48" long, made from 3/8" thick glass. what would be the best way to brace the top? pictures and details will help!

im thinking something like this with three 6x48 glass panes going across, and two 6x48" glass panes perpendicular to them. would i be able to get away with 1/4" for these braces or should i stick with 3/8"? is this overkill on bracing?

ask inthe DIY forum. or even aquarium obsessed forum.. they may be able to help you better....

Why do you want all that bracing? Use thicker glass and narrower braces.

I don't think the brace in the middle will do much for you.
