Experiences with C.Argi and Coral Beauty in same tank

I have had some success with Angels together back in the day but not any experience with Pygmy's together. Have a reef with a small C.Argi and friend wants me to take his pride and joy Coral Beauty as he is taking down tank. CB would be the larger fish by a decent margin. My C.Argi is small but feisty if bothered. Gave away my SPS and most other corals so picking not a worry and my C.Argi never did anyway. Just wondering what those that have had together think. Thanks for replies.

Haven't tried it with that combo, but what size tank do you have? That is going to play a huge role in if this is possible or not.

it worked for me in a 6 x 2 x 2.5 ~210g fowlr for about 1 1/2 years..sorry i cant speculate on long term as i killed them in a tank crash when i moved and think my wet/dry vac had a contaminate on the end of the hose(wife loaned it out and i didnt know about it)

since the argi is already established and they are fisty little guys who think they are queen triggers its good that the coral beauty is larger.. i suspect you might have some inital agression but if the coral beauty is well adjusted to captve life, healthy and eating well, if your tank is big enough and you have enough rockwork then you should be ok..all that being said its also possible one or both of the fish will not allow the other just because it worked for me before my screw up is no gaurentee it will work for you as each fish is diffrent and they dont read rc threads or compatability charts..lol but iam trying to train all my fish to read but the books keep falling apart in the water

It's a 75 gal with plenty of rockwork. Used to be a coral dominated tank but gave most corals to friends as my son wants to see more fish. I'm thinking of setting up a 90 gal I have laying around and taking the live rock from my friends tank, making the coral beauty the main fish and eventually adding BTA, clown fish, and chromis. Would like to keep him in my 75 for a while if I could.

I personally have a CB and a flameback which is a similar combo. However, my display is a 250 and the CB was in first.

I have a C. argi and C. potteri together in a 150g tub, the potters chases the argi around sometimes but no harm is done. Not sure if it would be so harmless if the argi was chasing the potters around :) The potters is about 2x the size of the argi and I added both at the same time. I am getting ready to move them into a 48x18 and I'm hoping for the best.

Make sure the Coral Beauty is MUCH larger. C. argi have a bad track record for murdering other Centropyge. No joke.
Ideally, the CB should've been in the tank FIRST. You might want to re-arrange rockwork to confuse the argi. Still, the tank is big enough for two dwarf angels.
Just be on guard is my only advice here..

The CB is more than twice the since of the Argi. I will re-arrange the rock work as well. It will be interesting. Will keep a close eye on them and keep everyone posted. I wouldn't attempt it if I didn't have the option of giving it back to my friend before he takes the tank down. I told him I'll give it a try and we will wait and see for a few weeks (If it lasts that long). Thanks.
