Exposed mesenterial filaments

I did a water change this evening and throughly made one of the mushrooms mad. I quickly grabbed my camera and took a shot so that I could post it here in case no one has ever seen this before. Now that the lights are out this particular mushroom is back to being as happy as a clam.

I had a hairy mushroom put out a tapered wad of filaments that was 6 inches long for no apparent reason. It sucked them all back in withing 20 minutes.

It was really the weirdest thing, I don't know why the water change would have irritated so much, but it seems to be doing fine now.
