external or internal?

I just recieved my Eheim 1262 for the return and one for the skimmer. I was just wondering what you guys think i should do? should i run it internally or externally? If i run it internal, I will have a total of three pumps in the sump. But I heard eheims don't generate that much heat.

If you can run it external go for it. The less heat you put into the water the better.

I think an eheim will work alot weaker if ran external for a return. Depends how you plumb it though.

Either way Eheims are good.

Eheim.. one of the best. I wouldn't worry about the heat generated by the Eheim. Worry about the others.

Yeh i think i will probably be running it internal... easier to take apart and clean that way. not worried too much about the heat... i got a chiller for that haha.

I run my two Eheims in my sump and I love them. I can't even hear them. Generally externally plumbed pumps can be heard.

I have a 1262 for my return
and a 1260 for my chiller.

Hey Josh, how come you don't just plumb your chiller through your return? You may loose some head pressure but probably not too much.
