i have a tidepool external overflow and it sais it can go up to 600 gph and i have a 500 gph return pump and i was wandering if i get a higher return pump for sps corals then will it work with the same overflow or should i get a bigger overflow?

Neither. If you want more flow in the display, use powerheads or a closed loop.
