Eye Candy-not for dialup!

I have the frag, but I ended up getting the whole colony.

I REALLY like the green zoas. Nice!

Your tank is coralline heaven! How long does that take? Mt tank is nearly 5 months old and not one speck of coralline is on my glass.

My coralline has been severley effected by asterina starfish. I have been growing strong coralline in this setup since about month 7.

water quality is key

Well that stinks. Hopefully it will come back quickly.

I have a question. I get the green algae growing on my back wall of my tank, but I have been scraping it off (those areas I can reach that is)
shall I not scrape this off if I want coralline to grow? Will it just grow over the green algae? I don't know wht type it is but it is really tough to scrape, and really can only be seen from looking through the side or top and not looking straight on.

Off topic, sorry

no the coralline will not grow over the green spots.
Unless your talking about green coralline (which I dont think you are?). If you have any hair algae, or fuzzy glass algae (a form of briopsis I think) then you have excess nutrients. Better to find the cause now, before it gets any worse. A good clean up crew is essential too.

Nope, it is not hair algae or anything like that. It is basically just a haze of green that covers my back wall. And if I am not on top of it, it builds up and becomes quite tough to scrape. It is a new tank so I don't know what type it is.
I have a clean-up crew of about 35, more than half are various snails. I also have a huge Astrea as well.

I will just keep scraping until I begin to see coralline doing its thing.

That is actually an encrusting Gorgonian. there is a little bit of GSP, where the asterinas didnt kill it, the Gorgonian is killing it, and slowly overtakeing it.
That is about 6-7mths of growth, from a 2"sq glued to the wall.

What did you use to glue the gorgonian to the wall? I want to start some GSP on the back wall of mine ?

My tank is acrylic, so it was very easy to superglue the pieces on the back wall.

This tank has been set up for a few weeks more than one year...
