eye issue

I have a niger trigger. It is either getting popeye or its a eye wound from eatting. On 5/2 i fed out of a tong and at the same time the trigger went for it along with my lion.On 5/3 i noticed the sore. I think i saw the lion hot his eye but dont really know. I have no pics but the eye is getting a white looking bubble on the half back side of the eye but on the eye itself. Any onfo on how to treat,or anyone ever have a fish injured like my situation? Thanks PP

He is eating great as of 5/3 and swimming.

Common for eye injuries to get a bacterial infection which can result in something that some call popeye ... in many cases these will clear up on their own assuming you have an otherwise healthy fish with a good immune system. Maintaining good water quality and feeding healthy food will help.

If you don't see improvement after about a week you should consider quarantine for the fish and use of an antibiotic. Maracyn 2 is readily available and is often effective.
