eye problem with clown

About two weeks ago I bought a pair of clowns. They were doing great then a few days later the eye on one of them clouded up and looked a little fat. Over time it has gotten worse to where the eye is just a creamy looking protrusion from its head. Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be and what I could do about it?

It may be pop eye but most of the time pop eye happens in both eyes, or just an injury that got infected that will go away on its own with good water quality and nutrition. Sometimes poor water quality can cause this without injury, you should test your water.

mine is eating very good (Frozen formula 1) he hasn't lost his apettite.

AJM how is your fish doing. Sorry for jack your tread, but I found no reazon to open another tread asking about the same problem.

He/she eats fine and acts like everything is normal..Just got a crippled eye. I tested water once again today and all is well.

My ocellaris clown's left eye popped out over night and he's never done it before. I've had him for almost two years too. Just this morning his one eye is bulging out of the side of his head. He's eating fine and there is no cloudiness on his eye or any other parts of his fins. Just a popped eye.

The fish was doing fine last night. I went down stairs today when I woke up to turn on the lights on the tank and his color was very pale. Throughout the day it seemed to have gotten worse and he wasnt too active. About 2 hours ago he was just laying on the bottom of the tank and breathing. About an hour after that he was dead.I also treated the tank with melafix and did a water change. So im unsure as to whats up. The rest of the fish are in perfect condition. Seems like I just got a lemon from petco I guess.

I'm sorry to hear that. My clown also took a turn for the worst. He's just hidding behind a rock and he wont swim around as he used to.

Today at feeding time I had to target feedhim, but at least he ate a little. I think I'm going to let it alone for tonight and I will do a fresh water dip tomorrow.

What's going on with Clowns latelly? especially with false perculas.

It seem that they aren't a good fish for beginers any more.

my clown passed away this evening:( RIP. I did the fresh water dip. Then he seem alright for like 4 hours or so, his color came back and he was swiming around the tank as normal. But around 5:00pm he started to swim up right very close to the surface and pretty much gasping for air. Then he was at the bottom of the tank and one of my blue legged hermits was already picking on him

I couldn't watch him suffer like that so I was forced to put him down and he took a ride to the freezer. :(
