F/S Kalwasser Reactor w/Magnetic Stir bar

It was used once, but I'd rather go with a Calcium Reactor on my frag tank.

I can take it to the meeting if anyone is interested.

Dale Cubano, here ya go bro.

Sorry guys, have had a hectic past couple of days. As promised, pictures:

It's 20 1/2" tall to the top of the JG fitting with out the stirrer. With the stirrer it's 25 1/2" tall.

It is a homemade Kalkwasser reactor and works perfectly, the magnectic stirrer is a medical one and purchased used from e-bay but also works perfectly. The Reactor was used only once as my SPS needs in my frag tank will require a Calcium Reactor. Four thumb screws and the top can be removed for cleaning/re-loading of Kalk. The top closes on a rubber seal/gasket and it doesn't leak what so ever. The magnetic stirrer can be put on a timer.

$80 bux for the Reactor and Stirrer. Works just as good as the $200 FishBowlz reactor I have setup on my display.

For the less technological guys here, why not post how it works? Do you need a pump with it? (I'd assume you do).

Sorry Ludwig, yes a pump is necessary. Preferably a dosing or peristaltic pump will work perfectly with this setup.

Ahhh, okeedokee.... makes more sense now. I wonder if you could run a powerhead in the tank, with the venturi hooked up to the reactor. It'd pull in a little of the kalkwasser.

what are the chances you could cut this down and make it shorter? I love the idea and need a kalk reactor, but the way I would set it up, it would need to be only 20 inches tall...including the stir plate. let me know if this is possible.

Sorry Magic, my pops made this and it was hard enough to do. I severly doubt he'll tear it apart to make it shorter.

But you do get that most people (like I did) will spend a lot more money than this and get the same exact results from a similiar machine. Besides I know it works perfectly, re-sizing it might cause an issue.

Thanks any ways

thanks...as of now my auto top off reservior is 20 inches off the ground and I can't move it up at all. I've been looking for a kalk reactor to run inline between the float valve and rodi reservior. less hassle than mixing up kalkwasser and dumping it into the reservior. thanks though.
