Hello -
I believe I am facing my first case of marine ich with my Tomato Clown.
Last Friday I noticed some small white spots on him... about 5-7... My water level was a little low though so a lot of bubbles were attaching to him from my water flow, so I figured I'd wait till the next day before worrying. Next day, he looked fine.
Yesterday, 6 days later... looked fine.
Today, 7 days later... he has about 20 - 30 spots on him.
I am assuming this is the 2nd and more prominent outbreak of the latest ich babies.
I have an urchin, turbo snail, and a smaller snail, as well as basic coral and 2 Blue damsels.
I've done my own research via internet + fish stores; but ReefCentral always seems to be most reliable, so I am asking as a first timer how should I approach this?
Is there anyway to fix this issue without a first aid tank? I have an 8 gal available... Is it possible I can put the inverts in that? Or more sense to put the tomato in it? Medication or natural solutions?
With freshwater I've always added salt and raised temp. to increase life cycle of ich and prevent it from burrowing back in.
