facing up? or on side?

My clam is attached to a big abalone shell I set him in, so that I could move it around if I wanted to. The clam keeps moving around and tipping itself over onto it's side. Should I just leave it or try and reposition it so that it is facing up?

Prop it up ASAP. Wedge small rubble around the clam so it stays put. A clam that is laying on it's side is soon to be a dead clam.
