Fairy wrasse before flasher wrasse?

I have read that it is best to add any flasher wrasse before you add fairy wrasse. I was just wondering if it would be that bad to add an orange-back fairy wrasse, before adding 3 flasher wrasse.

The orange-back will be my only fairy wrasse.

LA hasn't had any orange-backs in stock for a long time, and I missed the one that was on DD. I would just like to get one before they are out of stock for another few months. Or, are they a seasonal fish and the season is just starting?

It could be alright getting a fairy first. Not should be but could be.

Use a social acclimation box if don't add them at the same time. I added a carpenter's wrasses and rose banded fairy (initial phase) from DD at the same time with no problems.

Orange backs are a very peaceful fairy, adding before the flashers is not an issue at all.

I personally would be reluctant to have 4 wrasses in a 20g simultaneously.

Based on the amount of space they need, amount of food they eat and amount of slime they produce I would not QT 4 wrasses in a 20G.

A 20l would really be pushing it. A 40B would likely be fine if you have room for one.

In a few days I'm going to introduce three small female P. lineopunctatus to a QT housing three recently introduced fairys (exquisitas, auantidorsalis, lubbocki), so I'll let you know how it goes.

Should be no problem with agression then again depend on the indvidual social acclimation box is the way to go just to be on the safe side

IMO/E, despite what most references say, whip fins can get aggressive and can kill new wrasse additions

He seems pretty peaceful w the other wrasse and other fish. I'd hate to go through what I just went through w a melanerus wrasse!

I see your signature says that you have a 65g tank...my whip fin was in a 170g with only 7 or 8 other fish, and still attacked any new wrasse that I tried to add.
I now have a 450g DT with ~40 wrasses and 40 other fish, but NO whip fin (or 6 line)
