Fake coral

Had anybody used a brand of fake corals called Nature's Image? I want to put some of those in my FOWLR tank. I have some butterfly fishes that I know is going to nip at any corals I put in there. If anyone has, will algae grow on it pretty quickly covering its color?

You might want to post this in the Fish-Only, or Reef fishes forums. You aren't likely to find a lot of people with fake-coral experience on this forum.

If you have a nutirent issue you will have an algae problem whether it is on artificial coral, glass, eggcrate, etc.

I had a FO tank with a beautiful piece of Ridge Coral skeleton as the centerpiece. I soaked it in bleach water once a month to "gussie" it back up. Didn't actually think to fix the nutrient problem.

Ahhhhh. Knowledge is bliss... landlord

Some of the new artificial corals are remarkably real looking, but as landlord said, if your water quality is ripe for algae growth the fake corals won't be exempt.
