falco hawkfish

Thinking of getting one of these guys. Anyone know if it would take out my cleaner shrimp? Cheers

Well I don't have a falco but I have a coral hawk and the first night that it was in the tank it took out my cleaner shrimp. My shrimp was pretty big and my hawk is maybe a 1". Good luck.

The Falco in my tank is about 5".

I had one in my tank with 2 cleaner shrimp ,he never went after the shrimp.

Most of the sites I have read say they get to about 3" maximum, but mine begs to differ I got him from the LFS who got him from someone else's tank.

I have one, and it lived w/ a cleaner shrimp for awhile with no problems. It is a bit of pig, though.

I had one before and I loved him. He was an attention whore. Everytime I was looking at the aquarium he'd have to get right up in front of where I was looking and flash his side at me. He didn't bother anything in my tank.

I have a spotted hawkfish, very close to the falco. I had him in my 180 for a while and he was an absolute terror. Never bothered my shrimp, but they also would not come out during the day with him near. He harrased my fireshrimp into hiding until it eventually dissapeared. I moved him to my 55 fish only and i added a diamond goby and he killed it with in minutes.

So I think it depends on the fish.
