Fan ideas

I have a 180 gallon tank that is staying above 82 degrees, and was suggested to buy a fan to put in the canopy. My canopy is closed off on all sides with wood except the back has the egg crate back.
What kind of fan do I need to get? I mean can I just get any fan and place it in side the canopy and turn it on, do I need drill holes in the canopy and get the fans that you can screw on te canopy?
Is there some place that sells the fans that would work for what I need here in town or would I have to order them. What size fan or fans do I need? If I need to drill the holes, Where should I place them in the canopy, coming off the top or off the sides? Should I have the fans pushing air into the canopy or puling air out?

3-4" fans should work fine. I would put one in each end of the canopy with one blowing inwards and the other blowing outwards. Icecap makes variable speed fans with temperature censors that ramp up/down based on temp. There are more affordable fans that can be bought online or at Radio Shack as well.

I like the Thermaltake fans that are only 21dB and 76cfm. You have to pick red, blue, or rainbow. I used the blue but depending on what kind of cover you put on you can hide it. I figured if the were triggered at night to go on then it would be "moonlightish". The color is actually pretty close to moonlights in spectrum.

I have fans similar to what roy recommended

I prefer to have both fans blowing into the canopy, because the air always finds a way out and that way you dont suck moist salty air through your fan

the downside is that you can blow dust into the tank, which depends on how clean your place is

as you could imagine, I have all kinds of dust and dog hair in my tank

Has anyone bought any of the fans on ebay? Any good?
Anyone know exact model on the thermaltake fans, if I go with them want to make sure I get the right ones, how many should I get for my size tank, the temperature is not getting under 82 degrees and lately has been more around 84 degrees.

I have the Icecap fans Nook spoke of. I really like them a lot and haven't had a problem with them in about 3 years of use. Although the radio shack fans are less expensive initially, I used them for years and had to replace them about every 1 to 1 1/2 years so even though the Icecaps are more money upfront, I have a better fan and it has lasted a LOT longer without getting rust into the tank.

if you are in the room the instant they turn on you notice them for a few mins

but if you come in the room after they've been on you dont notice them

my tank is about 15 feet away from me
