fan on water

would getting a small fan and pointing it right at the water drop my temps at all? the tank is in one of the warmer rooms in the house and can easily get to 82f...but chillers are so dang expensive...

Yes, a fan blowing on the waters surface will help drop temperatures.

If your tank is only going to 82, a fan should work just fine. Many people keep their tank at that temperature on purpose. Just set the fan on a timer with your lights. You'll have much more evaporation, so be prepared to add more RO/DI water to top off.

Personally I dont think there is a problem with having the temperture at that tempurture. between 78 and 82 is what I belive tanks should be about. So IMO i dont think u need a fan to lower the temp
