Fancy Sticks in Glass Box

How many ml a day are you dosing? Do you do it by hand or a Doser? I've never had this issue while dosing and haven't heard of it before.

All on dosers. I put my number up above a couple of posts. Salinity rise related to two part dosing is actually fairly well documented:

I probably wouldn't have had this problem if I were doing water changes frequently as it would have balanced things out there. But with my monthly 15% changes, things tend to accumulate.

that is awesome growth. they are beautiful

Gracias!

Could be true but I don't think that is my problem. I don't think nitrates between 4-8 would kill pretty much all my SPS slowly.

I'm starting to really think it is the dry rock from brs that I STUPIDLY forgot to do an acid bath like I did on my old setup when everything was great from the beginning. I think it is leaching a bunch of crap that my corals like so I am just going to do more water changes. If that doesn't fix anything then I may just give up honestly because this has been insane.

BRS recently released an interesting video on the effect of curing their pukani dry rock. Check it out. I'm not trying to convince you or anything. Personally, I wouldn't risk putting small frags in a non zero nitrate system as I've had less than pleasant related experience. While 30ppm may kill them within a week, 5ppm would do it nice and slow. And that is assuming the test kit was actually accurate, which is almost never the case. On the flip side, my full size colonies were all fat and happy.

I will check that out, hopefully it does not make me mad haha. On the nitrates, since I am going to be doing weekly water changes now I think they will be lower once I do them. I am sure they will be a lot lower actually, if not then I will possibly look into what you are saying more.

Fantastic growth on your SPS! Looks like you have found the right combination of conditions. What are you using for flow? And what is your lighting?

Thanks! I'm enjoying the progress, hopefully it will last awhile. My flow is actually pretty laughable for a 100 gal system. I have two old Tunze 6095 powerheads on a Tunze 7095 and a newer Gyre 130. Gyre isn't running at full speed, probably at around 60%.

I've upgraded my lights last summer. Running 2 Radions xr30w pro on AB+ schedule at 85% intensity. 12h cycle with 1:20h ramp up and down.

Interesting. I keep thinking that I never have enough flow, and my SPS would do better if I had more. Would you say that your flow is random and chaotic, or is it more like a gyre?
