fast setup of QT tank

I have recently noticed ich on three of my fifteen fish in my 125g. reef tank. My question is what is the fastest way to set up a QT tank and have it cycle so I can have them in there for hyposalinity treatment as fast as possible? Also I have a green mandrin that only eats pods, what are the chances I will keep him alive without being able to provide him with live rock to graze, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Take some water from your DT along with a sponge or some type of filter that has established bacteria. That will help. You can also use some Amquel Plus.

I did the same thing as mentioned above 4 wks ago but without established media. I added amquel plus to the tank everyday and then tapered off to every other day. Everything has gone great. Good luck

How soon after do you add your fish? I took 55g. out of my DT and put it in my 55g. QT tank. Do I still need to wait for a cycle before putting fish in?
