Fast spreading ich?!

Yes, you can keep your inverts in the fallow tank as they do not act as a host for the parasite. As far as the damsel, you just need to confirm that it is in fact dead. If it is still alive, it will act as a host for the parasite and allow it to continue to reproduce.

Yes, parasites leave fish that die. So as long as there is no living fish in the tank, the fallow period can begin.

I offered to go through an analysis with you to determine the answer to that question and you turned that offer down. So that question will remain unanswered.

That was the first time I went through TTM, I told you I followed the procedure on here to the letter, I'm not sure what else there was to add. I didn't write down exact times etc so I'm not sure what other information I could have given you. Anyway this isn't the place to discuss it because it's not my thread.

Kenpau, could you please move this to your own thread? I am trying to set up my qt for my chromis and none of my questions about where to go from here have been answered.

No problem, I couldn't get an answer to my question in my own thread but sorry for invading yours.

Its Fine!

Does anyone know if I can put some of my live rock into the qt tank?

Never mind about this question, I discovered that it should not because of the copper based medication that will be used for the fish. So my last questions about this are
1. How long should I treat the chromis for when he already is not showing symptoms
And
2. For a tank infected with ich or velvet, when I do the water changes in the qt should I use the display tanks water or new water?

For Ich, i treat my fish the same as if I see symptoms or not. If I do TTM, I complete TTM and then observe for 3-5 weeks longer. If I do copper, I treat for 4 weeks at .5ppm, then observe for a couple weeks after. For Velvet, I think you should wait to see if you see symptoms, IMO; but you could treat with copper to rid of both risks for 4 weeks at .5ppm to be safe.

the only reason to ever use DT water is if you are absolutely 100% sure that the DT is completely disease/parasite free. For instance, I have pretty-stinkn close to 100% assurance on my DT, so I use DT for all my QT/treatment water changes. If you running your DT fallow, then obviously you will want to avoid using DT water for water changes during that time.
