As does Sansibia. Sympodium is somewhat quick too, though not as fast.

I wouldn't call sympodium quick at all, to be honest. "Slow" is more my experience with it.

I don't know that I'd recommend using any xeniid for ground cover, though, and this is coming from a guy who loves them. You wont get real continuous mats without gaps with any of them (sympodium would, eventually, I suppose) and most attain heights greater than 1" (some much larger). The only exception to both of the above points I can think of are snowflake polyps, which would be great except you'd never be able to keep them off your rocks.

I think GSP or zooanthids are the original poster's best bets.

yea i was thinkin GSP too id love to have zoo's but i struggle w them, i dont know if its the asteria(tiny starfish) or what it is. i did once see some very small cloved coral growing in a guys tank i liked but i cant remember what they were. ill have to ask him

xenia does grow toward the light though from my experience with it... it will eventually leave the bottom glass and go up all the rock.

why not try mushrooms, you could use all different colors, they spread fast, and don't need a lot of light so should do great on the bottom of the tank.

This has been my experience, too. My colony is growing but painfully slow compared to other softies.

I would try zoanthids again, just try different ones this time (I personally have had trouble with certain varieties but others do just fine).

Xenia will probably want to stretch towards the light and climb the glass, I don't think it would give the effect you want.

The GSP should spread pretty quickly, too.

Blue daisy polyps spread rather quickly and would add a touch of blue color. Beware though because everything mentioned will climb up your rocks.

I would go with the muxhrooms, ricordia ideas that others left. All other stuff grows up towards the light and will take over everything on the way.
