Fathead Anthias ?

I brought home a fathead anthias last saturday night. It had been at the store for about a month and was eating mysis shrimp (I know this cause I work there). Since saturday, I have only seen it eat one piece of mysis. Ive tried feeding it other things as well, like live brine and mega marine with no luck. It's swimming out in the open and all the other fish are getting along with it, so I have no clue why its not eating. Any suggestions?

They tend to eat when food is whizzing by in a strong current.

They also take a while to adjust and are picky eaters. Try different mysis or cyclopeez

I left mine in QT for three weeks and saw them eat very little and tried everything (mysis, roe, cyclopeze, flake, small pellets, Rod's food, etc). Once I moved them up to the display and they saw other fish eating - they started eating like pigs. Presently one of their favorites is black worms. You might try Black worms because very few fish can resist them.

Thanks, I knew they were picky eaters but I am feeding it the same type of mysis we fed it at the store.

Never thought about blackworms, thanks for the tip.

Today, I tried feeding a mixture of the mysis and mega marine. The fathead didn't eat much, only ate the tinniest pieces, so I picked up some cyclopeez and its eatin it up. So, I'm going to continue feeding mysis, but also the cyclopeez in hopes, that it will start eatin the mysis again...

Cyclopeez, black worms, and actually blood worms were the three foods I fed all of mine until they switched over to Mysis. I still fed the others to change things up in the diet. Glad it's eating for you, Jack! One of my favorite fish!
