I have a dragon eye favia thats splitting like crazy but its on a small rock it came on.
Problem is, its "wrapping" around the rock. Will it not grow flat onto the sand? I would like it to grow out nice but i am limited on locations for it on my rocks..
What to do?:o

I've had a favia grow on the sand before. It did take time, but it was using those grains as a building block. IMO, just leave it alone. Find a good spot, and let a sleeping dog lay.

I hope that made since. GL.

You're better off gluing it to another rock or something along those lines. It may grow across the sand, but what can also happen is that the sand can irritate it if the frag gets moved by snails and cause tissue recession.
