Favite coral?

Posted this in the lps section but got no love. Two questions. Is this a favite, and why haven't i seen them anywhere?



Are they a pain to keep? I can find only generic info on this coral.

I'd say it's a Favia. Easy to keep, but a very slow grower in my tank compared with nearly everything else.

Hm.. I've got a favia though, i'll attach a picture.

It looks similar but not at the same time.

It's difficult to tell when they get cut like that, but the shape tells me it's a favia over a platygyra

I was going to comment on the Favia in the background... I don't know all the different types, but I believe they're in the same family. I had something like that a while back called a pineapple coral that was softball shaped/sized.
