Favites?

Hi,

I'm new here. Have a long history of aquarium keeping. Had reef aquaria back in the '80's with live rock, before the wet/dry filter generation.

Currently I have a nano tank with a few zoanthid and green star polyp colonies.

Yesterday I added my first lps coral. A favia or is it a favites? (A pic is attached)
Since I added this coral the nearby Green Star Polyp colony has closed tight.

Do favia (or favites) coral release toxins? I am aware that they have sweeper tentacles...

Thanks for any replies.

That's a Favites, they don't release toxins or anything so you're good there, that one tends to prefer bluer light in the bottom third of the tank :)

Thanks for your reply, organism. (Love the name).

I have an LED fixture arriving the end of this week. Thinking the new critter may have to hide under the sand. ;-)

Looks like the colony is happy in their new home. They're looking for dinner...
