I had a red sea CA test kit the titration version. Did not seem to work too well. What is a good CA kit? Also what should I be testing regularly to ensure coraline growth. I think CA, ALK, and MAG?
I use the Salifert brand for Ca, Alk, Mag... and test them weekly. In my experience to encourage coraline algae growth, try keeping your Magnesium level above 1400 ppm. Once I started monitoring it closely, it exploded through the tank.
I like the Salifert for the cal, alk, nitrate and phosphates. I use API for everything else. I like the color changing tests kits because there is no guessing what color the water is.
I hate matching water colors to faded card colors. My eyes aren't that good.
