just curious whats everyones favorite diving or snorkeling spots are and if u have any hotel recommendations for said spots.

St. John is the only place we've been snorkeling. It was fantastic.
We stayed at the Caneel Bay resort. It's a really laid back resort. No TVs in the rooms. All of their rooms are right on the beaches. We were literally 5 steps from the bed to the beach.
And snorkeling gear is included with the room.

I've not dived but I've snuba in Belize and it has been the best for me.

Is directly in front of what I belive they call San Francisco bay or reef. Which is a spot that is busy all day long with excursions of snorkling and divers
Reeferhead is one of the guys on here that has been to a bunch of diving spots

I just came back from Castaeay Key (Disney's island), Totola and St. Thomas. Tortola and St. Thomas were cool for coral and the turtles. Castaeay Key had the Disney statues sunk and some other stuff which created artificial reef. Not much for coral but a ridiculous amount of big and small fish.
Bonaire. No hotel recommendation, find a vacation rental on VRBO or TripAdvisor. I can suggest a great one if you really want to go.

Never been to Bonaire, but have heard it is phenomenal there. Shore dive damn near anywhere on the island. Heard any of the ABC islands are great. Wife and I have dove in Cozumel, Roatan, Grand Cayman and Southern Illinois. I would have to say Cozumel is definitely first followed closely by Roatan. And So. IL. bringing up a VERY VERY distant 6th. But hey, you are getting wet, right?

I dove in the Mississippi river does that count. I may have even snorkeled in it when I was younger.
