Howdy all,
I am in the process of automating dosing in my sps reef. i have the option to do either a calcium reactor or a 3 part on BRS dosers. the idea of the calcium reactor i like as its melting actual coral skeleton. makes sense it would add exactly what the corals need to grow. the part i dont like is the low ph and the horror stories of setting these bad boys up. the 3 part i like the ease of set up and if my demand goes up i simply adjust the amount of time the dosers run. the part i dont like is every book i read warns me about using calcium chloride solely to raise calcium. talks about chloride imbalance and the need to do massive water changes to ward off the imbalance. so in a very long way i was wondering your opinion on this chloride build up and if there is any benefit to either system?
