Feather Duster issue

Eveningn all,

I am concerned about my feather duster that I have in my reef tank. The tank has been up and running for 4-5 months. Every thing is growing great, and the feather fuster was doing great until about a week ago. It has not come out of its tube at all, sometimes I ll see him at the very tip ready to come out but will retract back in. I thought he was dead at one point because it released some sort of mucous into the tank and it was getting caught on everything. So I did a 50% water change and removed it from he tank. I left him a bucket with water for a few hours so I could dispose of it. I noticed later that evening it was out and about without a problem. other than a clear mucous (different form the one we release came out of the end of the tube). So I cleaned everything up and put it back in and have not seen him since. I know when they are stressed they will drop their crown and regrown a new one if they survive. But he still has a crown as far as I can tell. It does seem to be alive and moving jsut not displaying and ocming out anymore.

Parameters are all normal.
NO3=0ppm
NO4=0ppm
No ammonium
Salinity is 1.021
tank is feed cycolopeeze daily and mysis. phyto every other day to evry 3rd day. Weekly WC 10-15% normally

Let me know if you need more, sorry for long post.

Other inhabitants include 2 bangaii cardinals, 1 spotted mandarin goby and a janss pipefish. There are a few snails that part of my CUC. I have not seen anyone picking at it.

Okay I raised the salinity to 1.024 over the last couple days. Is there anything else I can do. Maybe a new food source?
