feather duster left his tube??

why does a feather duster leave his tube??
I never had this happen before? I have 12 of them and they all seem happy?
Anyway this one wont do it again I guess as he got caught in a powerhead protection capsule.
So why do they leave their tubes?

Usually they leave the tube when stressed.

I had one that did that. He crawled back in the next day. Never could figue why he left in the 1st place.
