Feather duster tips seem... Shorter...

Hey guys! I have a feather duster since some days but I have started to notice that the tip of the feathers are shorter... Like if... Okay... It's silly but let's say he get a haircut... Yeah... looks like that... But it worries me since... Well is not a hair cut... Why the tips look like they are missing about 1/4 of the tip? They also seem thicker.

Please reply me with some advice I'm kind of very worried.

Crab could definitely come in on the live rock.
Set a bottle trap and bait it with something smelly like frozen prawns. He'll crawl in.
