feather dusters killing zoos?

Can tiny feather dusters kill zoos?
It looks like the reason my four Keds reds arnt opening is that there are feather dusters growing out between them, Can I kill the feather dusters by putting the zoos in fresh water?

Well I just dip them for like 20 minutes and out came a feather duster.
Lets see what happens next.

They're probly getting irritated by the dusters feathers when the duster opens of the feather moves around in the flow.
