Feather like algae

I am having an issue withthis stuff which to me looks like algae but is like a feather. It is growing on most of the coral plugs and a few areas just in bunches on the rock. Doesnt look like any of the crabs or snails are touching it. Any idea what it is or how to deal with it? It is a 220 gallon tank with a 40 gallon sump. Just some coral frags, no fish about 200 lbs of live rock. Been setup for about 6 months. Phosphates and everything test fine unless there is a problem with my test kits which ithink i will pick one up tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

Bryopsis. Stuff is tuff to deal with. You need to limit nutrient sources specifically po4. You may test a zero but algae means it's there. What sort of rock did you start with. Could be leeching po4. It probably came in on frags your added. Peroxide is one way of dealing with it but I've never had a serious enough to battle with it to warrant that route so I'll let other weight in.

Yes bryopsis and it is nearly impossible to get rid of. I've tried the magnesium treatment to no avail. It did start to die out when I upgraded my lighting. I also run carbon occasionally but I still have a few small patches but at least they are not growing.
