feather-like creature on live rock

strange, i was looking at my tank tonight (moon lights) and i saw a very small (3-4mm tall) feather/polyp-like creature. it was attached to the rock and upright. when i shined a flashlight on it it withdrew and disappeared. it was about 6 inches to the left of my anemone and a rock above one of my featherdusters. any ideas what it could be?
