Hi again everyone! We are into February and this month's meeting promises to be a good one!

We will be meeting at the education building at 7:30pm on Friday, February 20th.
The night will start out the with us having a "round table discussion" on the direction of the club, what everyone would like to see more of and what you didn't like or would like to remove/ improve in the future. We want members' input to help steer the club in YOUR desired direction.

We will then have a "Panel of Experts" type forum with a few of our more experienced hobbyists leading the way during which, you can ask any type of saltwater aquarium or reef-keeping question. You will then receive immediate feedback from several knowledgeable people. We are hoping it will help solve any of your chemistry issues, lighting, filtration, stocking, pests or even coral propagation questions. It should stimulate more related questions and in-depth discussion on the subject where every person attending can learn.

I will also bring my laptop and can demonstrate to anyone needing help posting images or links on ReefCentral, editing/cropping images or just hosting them online for others to view in a real-time situation.

We'll discuss the All-Ohio Frag Swap and answer any questions you may have about it.

This meeting will be limited to current members only but if your membership is expired or you would like to join it is very easy online through our Paypal LINK or in person at the meeting. The cost for membership is currently $20 per year and includes a "members only" raffle ticket at every meeting you attend. That's 9-10 chances to win a great prize with each family membership!

We will, as usual, have refreshments and snacks as well as our awesome raffle so bring enough funds to purchase additional tickets on the raffle items and go home with a new critter or coral for your tank! Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.

Hope to see you all there for a great night of conversation and learning!

Looking forward to attending our first meeting it will be nice to learn from experienced hobbyists and meet new people.Hope we can have the new tank ready for Aprils fragfest !

Please remember that if you join/renew your membership online you will need to both fill out your information and go on to the paypal info screen and complete that part as well.....otherwise I'll sic John Janda after you..... :)

Absolutely... you can join at the meeting but it may be easier to do online so you don't have to find John and wait in line to sign up.
Hope to see you there!

Bring some ideas as to what you would like to see programming-wise for next year. Also I was hoping to get a few Frag Swap committees together, so think about if that's something you might be interested in.

Can,t wait to go to my first meeting, been a member for almost a year. Hard to get up to Cleveland with all that is going on. Been looking for a protine skimmer. A guy that I work with brought one in and said hear I never used it and I bought it at a yard sale. So hear I am with this thing, it' a monster. The base is 9"x9", from the top of the base is 14 1/4" high and the o\d is 6". I kind of have a jist of things But I am going to need a crash course on thing. I got it fir my 55 gal. reef but I think it is a bit of overkill, there is a sticker on it with a reef engineering on it. Missing the lid.(I can make one) but I don't know if I'm missing anthing else. Also I don't have a clue as to what size pump this thing is going to require, these are just some of the questions I have. Starting my education on skimmers.

We are glad you will make it too!

Bring it with you so we can give you the best info possible. I hope I don't disappoint you when I tell you that your description is of a rather small skimmer. It sounds like it should be fine for a 55g tank but may not support much larger than that. We can tell a lot more when we can all get our eyes and hands on it

See you there.

That's why I want to brigng it, I'm skimmer iliterate, all I've ever known was ..gulp, a sea-clone, cough, cough. I know you gues will put me straight on this thing. By the way, does anyone have any bail money if I get pulled over with this thing? I might be late aftr trying to explain that it really is a filter for my water on my "fish tank", officer. lol.

Where exactly is the Education Bldg? As it will be dark then I would like to park relatively close by instead of the general parking lot. Is this the building just past the general gate to inside the zoo on the left opposite the souvenier shop?
