We tried getting a speaker for this month, February 21st, and unfortunately they both got pushed back. So we have a couple of back up options for the meeting. Let us know what you would rather see.

-Eric (zibba) do Photo Editing workshop
-Jason (me) do a DIY Liverock
-Other. Let's hear you ideas!

I would like either topic, maybe the live rock a little more so. Also wouldnt mind seeing a talk on coral ID(any base SPS, LPS, polyp) with a slideshow or something, just basics not actual names for the most part.

As much as I'd love to learn about editing photos, I can barely take a good enough photo to be "edit worthy". I'd love to see something covering the best tips/tricks on taking pictures of your fish/coral.

I could probably do a good coral ID presentation.

I'm sure Eric could go through all the basics when it comes to take a good picture.

Happy to talk about some basic photo tips as well.

How long do you figure for the live rock presentation? Perhaps we can do both? Or we can scratch the photo editing and do the live rock + coral id presentation? Not trying to overload you for the event but just throwing options out there.

I will start on a coral ID presentation. But it is going to take me a little longer to put it together. So this will probably be the April topic. I want to make it good with lots of eye candy that is well referenced and credited. Maybe evolved and I can do a two part presentation. Or even a debate, if we disagree on something, which I don't think we do.

might need to use pranksters outdoor area, not sure how bad that would smell up the jester room we normally use.

I would like something on coral pest ID and best ways to get rid of each pest.

Also coral care. Different diseases and best ways to treat them.

that is another great idea.

As for the fish food there are a cpl guides here on RC, most people seem to try to replicate rods original/ reef frenzy types of food. Things like carrots for vitamins, garlic for flavor, shrimp, mussel, clam, oyster, squid, pacific white fish, I think cod maybe, some nori or other seaweed, and then whatever additives you want like reef chilli, selcon, oyster feast.....

Here is one of the better threads....

Note, he made a lot of fish food in that thread, I think people usually make smaller portions.

Maybe I can get the DIY Live Rock and DIY food presentation together in one for February. I'd rather use a food processor than a blender. Does anyone have a food processor and doesn't mind it getting seafood all over it? I will make sure it is cleaned after :)

The Pest ID would go well with the Coral ID Presentation. But that will have to wait till April because I want to get a good slide show together.
