My 400gal DSB build has been slow as a snail in progress but it’s moving. My goal is efficiency in maintenance and energy. All feedbacks to guide me are all welcome.

Tank: 96 x 31 x 31
DSB: 5”- 6”
Overflow and output: 2”
Returns and inputs: 1 or 1 ½”
Sump 3 stage ( 1 Cryptic zone, 2 PS and Ca xtor, 3 clean water)
Clean water from 3stage to IWAKI pump then directs to
Display (Return 1)
Surge 1 (Return 3)
Surge 2 (Return 2)
IWAKI pump will be located in the mid-section (ideal spot to maximize flow and minimize differential)
Valves will be installed to regulate and isolate as needed
Power supply will be only for the ff items below:
IWAKI pump 1/4 hp. Do I need 2 pumps? I have an extra one for back up.
LED overheads
Heater (titanium) in sump… any suggestion what watts?
PS pumps
Battery operated:
Digital thermometer
Auto feeder
