Hello Everyone,

This is my first post, i have loved salt water tanks since i was a kid, have always wanted one and i finally have the means to afford one. I am a complete newbie and so i have enlisted the help of a local installer to design, build and maintain my new tank. I was hoping i can post a list of what was being recommend/quoted and see if anyone had any feedback as to what was being offered. I had a fairly open budget and asked for top of the line with whatever redundancy and fail safes that made sense for the setup. List below...

Looks good, but you will need more lights if you plan on keeping any light demanding corals. It will not have a consistant light intensity across the tank with only three lights. Most everything else is goid quality. You may need one more 300 watt heater if you let your house get cool in the winter.

I agree a 8 ft tank needs 4 lights minimum. The two heaters might be enough depending on where you live. I'm in South Florida and my heater only comes on a few times a year. Welcome to RC

I am in Pa. The tank is going in my finished basement so the temp is a constant 72 degrees.

A couple changes to the initial specs...

Increased size to 120x26x30 (405g)

Increased sump to 60x18x18 (84g)

Increased to qty 5 radion xr30 lights.
