Feedback on the 9420 Skimmer

Roger and all,

I am looking for some real life feedback on this new skimmer. I saw one of the beta units in test in the LFS and thought it pretty impressive but I know there were some issues with pumps or something for a bit.

That being said, I really want to give this one a try on a 210gal SPS tank.

Anyone using one or have pics of them in action? Roger, do you have any feedback as to the status of thee units now that there are a few of them out there.

Last thing, is there a specific water level in the sump that provides the best performance, or is it best controlled by a riser tube?

Thanks for the help!!

The only problem with the current needle wheel on some units is the needle wheel is pushed on with a rivet that may be too tight, loosening it is very simple and should solve the problem and the next shipment of them should be free of this problem. I set up a 9420 at my old shop and they have been very happy with it and it seems to do a good job. It is really self adjusting and as long as the pumps are submerged very little adjustment is needed if any. It can work in as little as 5" of water.
