Feeding a Stingray

Sounds Fishy

I have wondered if it is recommended , to skip feeding a stingray ,from daily feedings to every other day.I have a Blue Spotted ribbon tail stingray, that has a very good appetite.I have altered it's feedings from twice a day down to once per day, over 9 months, because I am attempting to lessen the bio load of the display aquarium. I don't want to put the stingray in a situation where it is feeling starved or hungry, however. She is eating frozen fresh water mysis that is rich in protein but is oily. She prefers this food over everything and goes through a couple pounds a month. .My goal is to feed less but I am not willing to go beyond what would be considered as unhealthy for the fish.It is a mature female, that has filled out and added a couple inches overall in tail length.

First of, I don't have any experience in keeping that particular species but have keeps loads of big predatory freshwater monsters and personally I've always had the most success when feeding a large meal every other or every three days.
I think this would more likely mimic their natural feeding behavior.

I kept a bamboo shark about 30 years ago,and he seemed comfortable eating 2 or 3 times a week. The stingray has a bigger appetite and is like a cat waiting to be fed at the same time everyday.I don't know if Bluespot stingrays hunt daily in the ocean or not.My impression was that they do,but I am not 100 % for certain.Once in a while I let a day pass by between feedings, but she is looking for food in the sand the whole time till she gets fed. Thank you for your input.
