Feeding Acons

My acons were doing fine but have seemed to stop growing. I try to target feed it with some eel or krill when I feed my fish. If i do not stand there guarding it the fish will take what i feed the acon. I was adding marine snow every other day now im feeding my fisk and corals, reeds red feeding mix, which CRA has said is all I need to do. They seemed to really like it when I switched to reed's. All others our doing fine and seem happy.

Cut the top off of a 20 oz Coke (or equivalent) bottle and place it over your acans (and any other LPS you want to feed). Squirt the food through the mouth of the bottle top with a baster and you should be able to keep some of the fish and shrimp away while the coral feeds.

I feed my after the lights go out and the fish go to sleep that way i dont have to worry about the fish stealing there food

Agreed; both the bottle top and night feeding are great for most corals. Acans like to eat at night anyway. If they have their tentacles out they'll grab the food pretty well. They do like very small pieces.

Rod's line of foods is also excellent. Now that CRA carries it I will probably stop bothering to make my own.

mysis shimp is what i feed mine just melt it like an ice cube over the top off them.

My acanthastrea grows well simply being in the area where I feed my fish. I suppose it will grow even faster if I target feed it. For awhile it appeared to grow rather slow, but it was making a bunch of small offspring along the edge.
