Feeding cleaner crew during quarantine

I read that we should quarantine cleaner shrimp, crabs, snails, etc. If they are in a bare tank with just a filter what do we feed them?

Can a fish be in the same quarantine tank or is it recommended to be in a separate tank?

first question: do you dose copper in your QT tank!?

No, it will be brand new. Just a small 10g.

ok, then if you choose to qt them, you can always toss in formula two for the hermits...actually formula one as well. i've never really qt'd them for long. the only reason i do is b/c i'm paranoid about any possible diseases on them. so i'll buy them on days that i'm doing a water change and i'll bathe them in my dirty water more to rinse out any diseases that may have been in the water they came in. the other reason i don't qt them is b/c i put copper in my qt tanks.

Feed the snails algae wafers or some nori.


Cleaner shrimp will eat regular fish food and will eat algae wafer as well.


Crabs will pretty much eat anything lol

I do not typically feed inverts while in qt.

I also only keep them there for 3 days or so to make sure they are not dragging in some kind of parasite.
