Feeding corals

Just so I'm on the right track. I feed my lps twice a week a combination of baby brine shrimp and mysis(frozen). I've read that I need to feed some kind of plankton and that cyclopseeze is very good for them. Any suggestions?

Personally, I'd nix the brine shrimp all together. It's like the nutritional value of a rice cake. It'll make a turd, but that's about it..Stick with the mysid.

An even better alternative to cyclopeeze is roti, or oyster-feast. A smaller micron food that all your corals and filter feeders can utilize. I personally alternate between the latter two mentioned.

A good LFS should carry them, or a good LFS will listen to your suggestion if they dont. Were in different states, so you'll have to do some legwork ;) otherwise it's definitely available online..

i just switched to PE mysis from hikari mysis for my corals and fish, and sometimes i mix in cyclop-eez with some vitamin c dosed in the mix, and they seem to love it for the most part. what you are doing seems great except the brine, as others have stated, it really is only good for very finicky fish eaters that wont eat anything else, then you switch them to something like mysid or a flake or pellet. but for your corals, mysid and cyclops, maybe some rotifers as well is a good mix

I've been really enjoying how my LPS corals have responded to Coral Frenzy...and it's about as easy it gets. I also spot feed jumbo krill...I also try to shut down filtration, leave the circulation rolling and drop a big chunk of cyclopeeze in and let everybody marinate in that soup for awhile. Variety & consistency = fat & happy polyps.
