I'm upgrading my 75g lps tank to a 180g. When I aquascape this time I'm leaving gaps in the rockwork to slide in some sort of barrier from front to back, probably eggcrate.

This way I can chase the fish to one side and feed my slow eating scoly's and cyanaria's without my purple tang stealing everything.

What I do now in the smaller tank is barricade the piece I'm feeding with a combination of nets and pieces of eggcrate depending on the piece I'm feeding.

Sometimes I just sit by the tank and chase him with a stick! Hosting clowns will be tougher to move away. That's why I don't keep clowns with my LPS.

You could use a tupperware of some kind and flip it over top of the elegance to seperate it from the clowns. i would drill a few hole sin it to allow a little flow while feeding.

In all honestly though, clwon housing in an elegance usually ends up with the demise of the elegnace. They (elegance) dont like to be bothered when open, while frogspawn and hammer generally dont mind it as much, plus the latter generally have multiple heads while an elegance generally is one large head. If the clowns prevent the elegance from fully expanding, you'll have to seperate them.

YA, clowns hosting an elegance is not a good thing anyway. They will irritate it to the point it wont open the way it should. Try to get something else in there for them to host in.

FYI, I have 4 aussie elegance in my display tank and I haven't fed them for over 3 months. They are doing great.
