feeding feather dusters

i have a feather duster that i recently purchased, people have said that in order for them to survive you need to either put a cup over them and pump that full of phytoplankton so that they can eat from a concentrated amount or use a plastic seringe to feed them directly, how is this done?

here's a pic of the little guy, i want him to do good...but honestly other than adding the phytoplankton right to the tank i have no idea how else to feed him....

AFAIK the giants need a lot of phyto to do well and I have read that they also benefit from a healthy sand bed. Live phyto may be better than the dead stuff.

According to Dr. Ron, target feeding them will just make them stop eating. So you probably should just add the phytoplankton directly to the tank.

i feed them using a syringe attached to some tubing then finally to a long and no-flexible tubing, this way i can keep my hands out of the water. i'd usually feed them the liquids from the mysid shrimps that i feed the fish and also mix it with a little phyto, squirt it slowly, if too fast, they'll just close up. good luck.

I was told they were filter feeders and would take what they needed from the water. I believed the information and have never spot fed mine to this day. They're all doing great. It's been over a year.
