Feeding Fish

I currently have two baby clowns. How often do I need to feed them. I have frozen as well as flake. Also, how do you get smaller peices of the frozen food? Do you just break off what you need after its thawed out and refreeze the rest?

You can take a knife and cut it in half while it is frozen. You can feed daily if wanted to buy squirt very little food in at a time. It make take awhile to feed all the food. Squirt some in every 30 min maybe for few hours. Jut don't dump all in at once.

I feed my 90 gallon few cubes at a time but it could take me 2 hours. I'll squirt some in every once in while when doing chores or watching tv.

I suggest that you feed twice a day. 3-4 times per day in smaller amounts is good when you have the time but that doesn't always fit our schedules. Just feed as much as they will eat in a minute or two. Put a small amount in, let them eat, and then put more in.

I take a regular table knife and scrape some of the frozen food off the cube onto a spoon, let it thaw, and put it in the tank (after turning off my main pump so the food doesn't go through the overflow). Don't thaw the full cube and then refreeze it. A cube will last you a half dozen or more feedings at first. If they eat flake, you might also try the small New Life Spectrum pellets. On the frozen side, use Hikari mysis and a meaty food like Ocean Nutrition Formula 1.
