Feeding H. malu

I have a small circa 2" diameter malu which I bought approx 3 weeks ago. It's attached to the tank base through approx 3" of sand, expands normally and looks fine. I've offered it all sorts of food that my other anemones take readily such as chopped squid, raw prawn, mysis, krill, mussel etc but It just doesn't seem interested. The food sticks to the tentacles initially but there's no attempt to pass it to the mouth nor is there any sort of active grabbing of the food. After a few seconds it just drifts away. The anemone even appears to have grown slightly since introduction. The conclusion that I've come to is that it's getting sufficient nutrients at the moment from its zooxanthellae. Is it possible that small malu of this size subsist on their zooxanthellae until they reach a certain size when food capture starts to take place ?
A small gigantea of a similar size does actively take and consume mysis.

I think you anemone is still stressed and not healthy yet. That is why it did not eat. I would feed it smaller food in a few day. Your anemone did not really growth to any appreciable extend. It just inflated more since you put it into your tank. Small bits of table seafood is what you need to feed it. My Malu just eat everything I feed it
