Feeding Hawkfish

Rhinecanthus

In Memoriam
I recently purchased a Geometric Pygmy Hawkfish (actually a subspecies of the Anthias family).

I generally feed my tank formula one flake, frozen mysis and cyclopeeze.

From all of my reading these foods should be more than appropriate for this guy.

I fed the tank today (I just put him in today) and he didnt seem interested in the flake. I figure I will give him some time to get used to his new surroundings before I start worrying.

Anyone have any special tips on feeding hawkfish?

Thanks!

try some spectrum! my flame hawk goes crazy for it! when I put in mysis and the spectrum pellets...he goes for the pellets first!

My pixy hawk eats everything but veggies. Pods, pellets, mysis, brine, marine cuisine, krill, shrimp, plankton - you name it, my little piggy stuffs it down as fast as he can grab it.
If he's not interested in flakes, try feeding him something that looks closer to live food, like the frozen mysis. Soaking foods in products like Entice or garlic juice might help to stimulate his appetite as well.
