feeding juvenile black clownfish

feeding my 1" black clown NLS pellet & frozen cyclop eeze
thrice a day, for more than a week
both of them are still very skinny

any tips?

are there other tankmates that could be stealing their food? when did you get him as he could still be stressed out from shipping or his new environment...

if he is getting plenty of food, just give him time...and if you're feeding three times a day, you're probably overfeeding...as fish can go several days, if not weeks, without food and still be perfectly healthy...
 
I had two 1" Blac\k Ocellaris and I just them pellets once a day and today (18 months later) they are full sized and breeding. I changed the diet about a year ago to frozen and live foods and I now feed them many different frozen or live foods 3 times a day.
 
Do they eat until they start spitting out everything they 'mouth'? If you see them 'mouthing' food and then spitting it out they are gut-loaded. That's as good as it gets. Keep feeding them high-quality foods and they will chunk up. It's futile to try to 'plump' up clowns. They are sea pigs for a reason as they will eat every 5 minutes as much as they can cram in. So, unless your breeding feeding once a day is more than sufficient for a healthy existance.
