Feeding LPS

So I'm wondering how you guys feed your LPS? Also, what do you guys feed them? I've been trying to feed my acans and micro's lately, but it's a pain in the butt to have to get out tweezers and try to put mysis shrimp in their mouths. Also, that brings out my hermits who of course get their share of the shrimp. So what do you guys do?

I try to feed the tank first to make sure all the fish get their fair share of food. I then turn off the pumps and just use my fingers to carefully place the food on the polylps mouth, and then let the coral do the rest. So far I haven't had any problems. you may need to stick around and deter any inverts from taking food from the corals though. I feed mysis and phyto.

I blend up a mix of different marine based foods, such as shrimp scallops etc and freeze it. I break off and defrost in a seperate container containing water from the tank. I then use a turkey baster to blow the food gently onto the corals.

Sometimes I turn off the pumps but not all the time, unless feeding Goniopora. Larger corals such as Catalaphyllia, I put on a latex glove, defrost some krill, and brush it over the tenticles. Capture is quick.

If you have fish and inverts that steel food, then wait untill your lights go out, this will help with the fish, but you will have to chase off inverts.

cheers

Chris
