Feeding mysis in an sps tank

Hello all, I have a question about feeding in an sps tank. I have some lps, maxi mini, and other stuff that require mysis and feed it a few times a week. When I do, my birdsnests and a few other sps get lots of the little shrimp caught in them. Is this at all bad for the coral? I wouldn't think so but I currently blow off the mysis with a turkey baster. What would you experienced/experts have to say about it? Thanks in advance for any insight. Have a good one!!!!

As long as there is enough water flow through the coral for things to not become lodged, then there really isnt a problem with anything. Most acros have little crabs living in them and this helps them get something to eat.

No to highjack, but related. What do you successful SPS keepers feed your corals and how often> Is light alone sufficient?

Sps do not eat mysis. It is too large. I have found that coral frenzy works great for my tank. U can buy it at most retail stores as well as online.

I personally feed my tank a mix of ESV spray dried phyto and freeze fried cyclopeeze. I soak a few tiny ESV spoon fulls of each in about a cup of aquarium water for a few minutes and then blend the living heck out of it for 2-3 min. Turn off my return and pour away. I read an article (which I cant find now) on filter feeders/corals and the foods we commonly feed them. It stated that much of the time we are unable to provide particles/organisms small enough (<150nm). The article said that in lue of live foods in that range and larger, ESV, soaked and then blended VERY well can get down to an appropriate size. Just my 2 cents
